Otter Pops for Cold Drinks |
|
|
If you're making cold drinks and you run low on ice, try using those "otter pops" you have stashed in the freezer for the kids. Leave whole or break in pieces and put in your drink. It not only cools down the drink but also adds an extra bit of flavor. It's especially tasty to add them to mixed drinks, like a Mai Tai, Margarita, etc.

I can't find the actual history of the name, though, I'd assume they are Otter Pops based on the fact they have cute little otters on them ;) *shrug*""
RE: Otter Pops for Cold Drinks
I'm sorry; what are otter pops? Is this another name for popsicles? If so, I would really like to know how the name "otter pops" came about?
RE: Otter Pops for Cold Drinks
I've been doing this since I was like 6 ;)
It's trial and error, but the majority of the "red" ones go great in any clear soda (including Mt. Dew).
I've not tried any in Cola, but I bet the "cherry" ones would not be so bad...
Many also go OK with Lemonade.
(as an unrelated note: Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum goes pretty good with "Pink Lemonade" Kool-aid.)
