Use A Sponge For Picking Up Thumbtacks |
I once spilled a package of the cheap button-like thumb tacks in a drawer. I had a hard time picking them up one by one. So I took an old dried out sponge, so it was kind of hard, and I pushed it onto the tacks. It worked so well, I left them in the sponge for storage.

A magnet works great to pick up tacks, pins, needles and the like, too!
