I just Steam Cleaned my wood floors with the Bissell Steam Mop and my floors have turned cloudy and look dirty! Any ideas out there to fix this? Bissell had nothing.

I think it is buildup on your floors from the orange glow. I used to use this and would get cloudy "areas" whenever I got water on the floors. I ended up having to strip the floors by hand with vinegar and water scrubbing with teflon scrub sponge-big job, but happy now. Now I use my steam mop and love it, no chemicals no buildup. I used to like the look of the "shine" from the orange glow but now realize the orginal finish of my floors looks great without the buildup.

I have never heard of steam cleaning wood floors before. How about contacting the company who last treated your wood floors for you, you may have to have they striped and refinished. Try calling a flooring company and get some advice on what to try in your area. Good luck, I hope everything turns out okay for you.

No it didn't dog-gone-it! I called Bissell company and they told me to mop with vinger and water, so I did! Nothing!!! It's was all streaked and yucky!! I mopped it again and again, thinking that my floor was so builded up that this was all the junk, but it just got worse.
I went back to the Orange Glow floor cleaner and man it looks a whole lot better, not great , but much much better! I now need a good coat was shine stuff from Orange Glow now!
I just can't believe this has happened to me!!
Bissell was NO help , on the matter, no "I'm sorry" , just a "So, what do you want us to do about it?" Gees!!!
There wasn't even a warning on the instructions ...like try a test area first!!!
My floor is ruined!!
Thanks for your help and concern Diamondee! :0)

Could it be that the steam lightened up the wax on the floor? should go back to clear when dry.
