Avoid Buying Stainless Steel Appliances

A pal, who cleans houses, says not to buy stainless steel appliances, as they're hard to keep clean. She said they're all nice and pretty at first, but become spotty, streaked after a while.

After you clean your fridge with soap and water try a little Skin-so-soft bath oil from Avon. Just a little on a clean soft cloth and wipe it down. WD-40 also works as does any baby oil. When ya do get smudges and fingerprints, they will wipe right off! I love my stainless appliances!

Wow Terri, what a backlash huh?

Well I gotta say I have a stainless Steel fridge, oven and dishwasher. I use a specially made cleaner and they look worse after cleaning with it (streaks) then when they were dirty. I know I certainly will take your friend's advice and NEVER BUY STAINLESS STEEL APPLIANCES EVER AGAIN.

But I will try the suggestions on here, maybe they will help.

Just had to say something in your defense "Terrri from Nevada". Felt like you got a little ganged up on here ;)

Classic example. Stainless steel sink in the kitchen, don't know how old but looks great. Nothing sticks to them and so easy to clean. Everything is now stainless steel.

Terri , I have a stainless steel refrigerator, range, dishwasher, countertop and backsplash and that advice couldn't be be further from the truth. I have yet to have problems with mine. I use olive oil and a clean, lint-free cloth to polish things once a week and my kitchen shines.

I agree with Sylvia - it's all stainless in our house. I have two kids (fingerprints galore!) and each night when I clean up the kitchen, I take a second to just wipe down the fridge and stove. Cleaning stainless takes just as much time as cleaning any other appliance.

I disagree. I never buy an appliance if it's not stainlesssteel. All it takes to get rid of any streaks or fingerprints is a clean cloth with a little rubbing alcohol or a microfiber cloth rubbed all over. The shine comes back in a second & you don't even have to exert much effort.

SAME GOES FOR WHITE SINKS. WE BOUGHT AN ENAMEL ONE. BIG MISTAKE. IT'S HARD TO KEEP CLEAN AND SHOWS EVERY NICK AND GOUGE MARK
