Trash Bag Poodles

Does anyone remember how to make the poodles from trashbags and hangers that wer popular in the 60's or 70's? Any help will be appreciated.

I think I got my pattern a long time ago from ThriftyFun. I used yarn to do mine and made several for Christmas presents for kids that I didn't want to spend a lot of money on, but wanted to give them something. They loved it, I did them to there favorite color.
