Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. ground turkey
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup no salt bread crums
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder or three cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 2 egg beaters beaten
  • package of wheat burger buns

Directions

Mix everything a large bowl. Make patties about four ounces each, flatten them just a little larger than the roll (they will shrink to the right size, this way). Take one burger and place a slice of cheese on it then put another burger on top of cheese and seal the edges. Try coating the bun with melted butter and garlic in it before toasting the bun for an even better tasting sandwich.

Place on griddle, frying pan or grill turning only once. When done to med rare, or well done, remove from heat and place on a leaf of lettuce which is on the roll, add a slice of tomato.

If you want you can add another slice of cheese on the top burger after it is taken off the heat.

Source: Imade this up on my own I got tired of the same old beef burger. This can also be done with ground chicken, or even grond pork, or veal and, of course, beef.
