What can I use on my oak cabinets to freshen them up? I do not want to refinish or paint them but need something more than Pledge. Thanks!

Mindy

My sister-in-law has been using Rustic Touch by Melaleuca and her cabinets look new (they are 25-30 years old). Contact me if you want more information. bridgestock @ Earthlink.net

Old English furniture polish can be purchased in various shades and sometimes makes wood almost look new.

A friend of ours helped up "restore" the finish on our apartment's sold oak cabinets by using what I believe is a Formsby semi-refinishing formula - It seems to move the old finish around, without really stripping it. We ended up with beautiful cabinets. (It is sort of noxious though - watch out for the fumes when applying).

try murphy's Oil soap to give them a good cleaning. i'm surprised at the gunk that builds up on my cherry cabinets! Then lemon oil or Old English gives the wood a nice, new shine. Let it soak in good before buffing.
