What can I use on my oak cabinets to freshen them up? I do not want to refinish or paint them but need something more than Pledge. Thanks!

Old English furniture polish can be purchased in various shades and sometimes makes wood almost look new.

A friend of ours helped up "restore" the finish on our apartment's sold oak cabinets by using what I believe is a Formsby semi-refinishing formula - It seems to move the old finish around, without really stripping it. We ended up with beautiful cabinets. (It is sort of noxious though - watch out for the fumes when applying).

try murphy's Oil soap to give them a good cleaning. i'm surprised at the gunk that builds up on my cherry cabinets! Then lemon oil or Old English gives the wood a nice, new shine. Let it soak in good before buffing.
