Adjusting Sewing Machine Feed Dogs

I'm not sure what kind of machine you have, but on mine there is a switch that you slide at the back of the machine to lower the feed dogs to sew on buttons. Maybe you have a switch and hit it or slid it without knowing. Look for a switch or look in your manual for sewing on buttons and it will tell you if you have a switch.
