Search for Clip-art designs on the web. You will get more ideas than you'll know what to do with. I started embroidering last year and got scads of ideas to get me started and others I am striving to get good enough to attempt!
Depending on how detailed you want to get, any line drawing would do, try googling coloring pages for fruits and vegetables. If you can get Dover Publications, they have some great books full of detailed line drawings of all kinds.Online ordering at www.doverbooks.com
Use the kind of carbon paper u use when copying designs on wood(any wood or hobby store should carry it) on the back to trace design onto bisque. It should fire off just fine, or use plain pencil lead and coat the back of the design with a thick layer of lines, then place where desired on bisque, tape on, trace with dry pen or stylus.

if they are clear see through plates why not put christmas themed paper napkins that lay underneath inorder totrace the design and then paint. so many nice ones at the dollar stores like lite candles, holly and berries, wreaths, poinsettas, and more.
or even some christmas wrapping paper or cards and do the same thing.
last year I painted on my front glass door using that method of transfer from coloring book pages of snoopy from peanuts on his doghouse with christmas lights strung around it. my grandson loved it. I used acrylic paints. when i want it removed i just spray with windex then wipe off.

Could you use stencils? WalMart has lots of them in all sizes and designs in their crafts department.
