I used hot glue to place the heavy cording and the pretty fabric on my couch and recliner. I also used some fabric paint.

Thank you for this very creative "solution!" I was wondering how I was going to deal with certain spots on my mother's brocade love seat, that are unraveling from use. I will strategically place your appliques on the loveseat, using a glue gun, to cover the areas of wear and tear.
