I live in a small apartment that has no room for a dining room table so I bought a bar and two bar stools, but the set is ugly and doesn't match my decor. Can you creative people help me come up with a cheap way to make it attractive!

How about putting an ad in the paper and selling it. Then buy what you do like.

Redecorating a bar and bar stools that you are not happy with and they are perfectly useable. Could you try painting over the set to match your decor. Then, Using a vinyl-Leather look fabric, You can pad the top of the bar, covering it with a vinyl -leather like fabric, And do the same to the seats of each stool. Coordinate the paint or varnish to match the wood color in the room, And coordinate the fabric with a color in your living room set or draperies. It does not have to be identical to your furniture, It only has to coordinate. Pick a basic color that stands out in your room and go from there with designing. The last art effect you can use is to hand paint or stencil a pattern onto the wood grain. Not a lot but just enough for it to look original.

Your imagination is your best tool in decorating! :)
Hugs,
Jackie:)
