Try putting little dishes of straight ammonia around the area. It keeps the cats from dumping in our yard. Maybe it will work with dogs. The animals don't care much for that smell. I get my half gallons at the 99cent store.

OK, I love my dog, but, does anyone have a solution for preventing my dog from peeing on particular plants that are drying because of it? Thank you, Sandy B.

RE: Prevent Dog from Peeing on My Bamboo and Other Plants

You can apply Zeolite to the area around the plants where the dog has peed. The Zeolite will absorb the ammonia and act as a natural fertilizer. (06/06/2004)
