For all your holiday recipes, it's time to buy your butter now and freeze it. The prices will soar in the coming months.

Not just butter, prices will also rise on: nuts of any style, chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, sugars (brown, granulated and/or confectioners), flour, baking powder, eggs, dried candied fruits, etc.

And I'd like to add that you should also buy vanilla flavoring when it goes on sale. McCormick's is a great brand.
The artificial vanilla stuff may be cheap, but it imparts no flavor, or off flavors. If you've gone to all the both of cooking something tasty, give it the best flavor you can.

You're right and it's on sale for cheap next week at Shop rite in NJ.

Well you must live where that is the thing to do. Around here in CA. I stock up at this time! Flour and sugar goes for as low as $1 per 5# bag at Safeway sometimes. I just bought about 12 different bags of baking chips yesterday, peanute butter, peanut butter cups (mini), etc. they are around at this time of the year and good prices too. I found my FAVORITE baking chips of last year, mint/semisweet swirled from Nestle at the 99cent store!

But you do have a good idea, it's always good to stock up when prices are low!

All the stores usually have butter on sale a week or two before the holidays. That's the best time to buy it, you get it cheap. If they are out, get a raincheck! It usually goes about 3 for $1.00.
