Use a Pet Crate as a Footrest

We recently adopted a puppy and have a wire frame crate for him to sleep in. In order to accommodate this in our small den, I covered the top of the crate with two small pillows and topped them with a crochet throw. The top of the crate has become a foot rest and Sammy can rest peacefully inside below.

I have a toy-size dog (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and didn't want it sleeping on our bed because my husband is a very "floppy" sleeper and I was afraid he'd hurt the dog.
My nightstand has a bottom shelf with a door on it. I took the door off. I got a thick piece of foam rubber and made a removable cover for it. Then I crocheted a small blanket to go in there.
My dog sleeps in there nice and comfy now. And since she's right next to my side of the bed, she's comforted by me being close by too. She loves it in there!

Good for you, they really need to make crates more like furniture.
