Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup lard
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening as for pie crust. Beat the egg and add to dry ingredients. More milk may be needed to make a soft dough to roll out into about 1/4 inch thickness. Take 2 lbs. pork steak, grind and season. Make into small rolls, about 3 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. Cover each roll with pastry and bake until meat is done. (350 degrees for 40 minutes). Serve hot. Can be made ahead and frozen.

Sausage Roll Up

Brown sausage, scramble eggs, and put them inside a pizza dough or package of crescents that you have rolled out flat. Add shredded cheese, veggies, etc. and fold it up. Pinch the dough together and bake on 350 for 10-15 minutes. It's wonderful.
