RE: Nail Polish Stain In Bathtub
Thanks, kidsNclutter. There were two spots of fingernail polish on our fiberglass bathtub that had been there for months. I used "Goo Gone Xtreme Remover" (same thing as "Goof Off") with a Q-tip and it started disolving instantly. Got it all off without damaging the tub. Thanks again!

After many inquiries, I kept getting recommendations to use Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3, and it worked like a charm. I did have to use a razor in some thick spots, but it is all gone!!

Nail Polish in Bathtub
Request:
My lovely little kitty knocked a basket of nail polish over. Two bottles fell into the bathtub and shattered. I now have huge splatters of gold and red polish all over the tub. I am a renter and adore my landlord and my deposit money. Nail polish remover did nothing. The works, nothing. Any suggestions?
Please and Thanks!

If your tub is enamel rather than plastic, you could try acetone, available at hardware stores.

Fingernail polish remover always works for me. Maybe you can really saturate a cottonball and hold it on the spot for a minute to loosen it before wiping. You can also try a razorblade, but be sareful not to scratch the finish. Good luck!

There's a product called "Goof Off" made for such accidents. I've seen it used in new construction to remove paint drips, adhesives, etc. from new bathtubs and other surfaces. Use enough of the product on a rag and rub a bit, keep adding product as it does evaporate. Well worth it. Found in hardware section or home building supply, in a small can. Works for many things on many surfaces, but do read the label for exclusions. Used already on enamel, tile flooring, porcelain fixtures, fiberglass hot tubs, bath tubs. Good luck.

When all else fails, try baking soda. It's an abrasive, but will not scratch.
