Planting Garlic Along With Plants

Here is a very 'Clove'r idea:

Place a clove of garlic in plant soil to eliminate bugs. The garlic keeps the nasty bugs away and will also grow along with your plants.

Thanks JodiT and others. Gave me an idea to put garlic/bulbs, cloves around the bushes & plants to keep Gophers away. Perhaps I will try onion also. Will have to put them fairly deep, so the garlic, etc. may not sprout. I'm always looking for natural, non-deadly ways to work with nature. Happy compromise!

Tip: Planting Garlic Along with Flowers or Bushes

When planting flowers or bushes, plant a clove of garlic along with it. This will keep bugs away and you can use the garlic when it's ready.

Cool, I will try that for my hollyhocks. They are coming up like weeds, last year they didn't bloom so good. I hope this year they will, thanks! (04/04/2006)

I hope it works for you. I'll see if mine come up this year. If they don't, I'll have to put them in a more sunny place. (04/04/2006)
