This recipe came out my old community cook book.

Texas Sheet Cake and Topping
2 sticks oleo or margarine
1 c water
4 T cocoa
2 c flour
2 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 c sour cream
1 tsp baking soda

Topping:
1 stick oleo
4 T cocoa
6 T milk
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

In sauce pan, boil oleo, water, and cocoa. Remove from heat. Sift flour and other dry ingredients in separate bowl. Mix cocoa mixture, beaten eggs, and sour cream together and stir well. Blend cocoa mixture and sifted flour mixture together. Pour into a greased cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes in a 325 degree oven. Let cool.
Topping: Combine oleo, cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla. Spread on cake.

She has an UNBELIEVABLE cake which the comments listed says is also called Texas chocolate sheet cake. She calls it the best chocolate cake in the world. I have made this and was told it was the best chocolate cake in the world. But while you're there look around because she has some recipes that will knock your socks off.

This is a family favorite of ours,
Texas Brownies (Grandmas Card #81)
this was a free mail out about 16 years ago ,

2 C Flour
2 C sugar
1 C marg.(2 sticks)
1 C strong coffee (leftover is fine)
1/4 C cocoa
1/2 C buttermilk ( or whats in the fridge!)
2 Large eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

In a large bowl combine flour and sugar, set aside

In saucepan, combine marg, coffee, and cocoa, stir and heat till it boils.

Pour boiled mixture over flour and sugar in the bowl. Add your milk, eggs, soda and vanilla.
Mix well by hand or use you mixer.

Pour into well buttered 18 x 11 cookie sheet.

Frosting,
Combine 1/2 cup marg,
2 TB cocoa,
1/4 C milk, in a saucepan,
Heat to boiling, remove from stove
Add 3 1/2 C icing sugar stir well, next add -
1 - 1/12 tsp of extract, we prefer peppermint, but you can use vanilla , or whatever you like.

Bake Brownies at 325 for about 20 min.
or until they test done in the center.
we have a convection oven so it bakes faster.

Cool brownies until warm, not hot, spread warm (not hot) frosting and good luck having any leftovers!!

Blessings, nallorey
