Using Half An Onion
If you need only half of an onion, use the non-root half. Save the root half as it will last longer.

I know it sounds like a trivial way of saving money, but I only use half an onion where I used to use a full one. My husband and I can't tell the difference in the meals. Just one of the many money saving saving tricks I use. After all, it all mounts up!!
