Scenery: Large Sun Over Rocky Ocean (Bandon, OR)

Sun shinning through clouds on rocky shore.About a month ago, my husband and I moved to the lovely little tourist town of Bandon, OR. We feel so blessed to be in our sweet little community, located only minutes from many beautiful beaches! Being curious about our new area, we decided to head down to Beach Loop to pick a random view point, hike on down, and explore the shoreline.

We ended up stopping at about the third view point we spotted. Finding winding, wooden stairs leading to the waves below, we raced down the flights of stairs like children and ran towards the sea. Brian (my husband) beat me, even being 8 years older, he's quicker than I.

When we reached the shores below, we were amazed by large rock formations scattered near the shore. The tide was coming in, but there was still enough of a shallow area to jump onto some of the closest rocks. We played around on these rocks for a while as the tide kept creeping in.

Soon enough, the tide was coming in so far that it would completely surround the rock we were on, stranding us, just to eventually slide back into the ocean, leaving us a small window of time to jump back to shore while still staying dry.

During one of the moments when we were surrounded by water, I crouched down as low as I could, leaned to my left, and held my little point-and-shoot camera out directly above the water, getting as close to it as I could without getting my camera wet. This is the shot which resulted from that crouching experience ;)

I must say, I was inspired by how large the sun looked, blazing above the rocky shoreline. I ended up titling this image "Let Your Light Shine Down." I did this because of the way the sun threw it's rays of light down on the darkness developing below it.

We should all allow our light to shine down upon others, sharing revelation and happiness. Heck, as scripture states, you don't light a lamp and put it under a basket. You put it up on a lamp stand so that its light can shine on everyone within the house. And remember, in the words of country singer Wilma Burgess, "you can't be a beacon if your light doesn't shine". God bless, everyone! Keep being that bright, shining light!

After clicking on this photo and enlarging it, I could almost hear those waves splashing against the rocks! Nice shot!
