Cleaning Hurricane Style Candle Holders

I get so sick of having to pick out the wax in the bottom of hurricane type candle holders. I've found that if you pour some sand into the bottom of the candle holders before you light them, the wax simply drips onto the sand. When the candle is done just dump the sand out. Not to mention you can vary the colors of sand to match your decor, even throw in some colored glass beads or sea shells depending on your style.

You can also use refillable oil candles and fill them with eco-friendly lamp oil. No melted wax, no soot and no smoke.
