Removing Paint from Leather Shoes

I have a pair of leather Nike Air Force 1s, similar to this shoe. I got artificial paint on them. Is it safe to use nail polish remover to get the paint off?

Use mineral spirits. It's easier on your leather because it is oil based. Follow up with some good leather care product.
