I bought large size embroidery hoops, 2 scarves (or a nice piece of material cut in half = for 2). I hang these down from my hutch dresser on the side. These are out of the way, but you can take down to look at what pin you'd like to wear.

I do something similar for earrings. I use an old picture frame and stretch screen fabric (the type you'd use to screen a window or door) across it. I hang the picture frame and put earrings through the screen fabric.

I use the reverse side of linen calendars for pins and earrings.
