Strawberry Pecan Dessert
- 1 lb. butter
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 qt. strawberries (you can use frozen, thaw first)
- 1 cup broken pecans
- 3 egg whites, beaten stiffly
- vanilla wafers (about 1 box)
Cream butter (must use butter). Add sugar to butter, cream until smooth. Add strawberries and pecans and mix well. Fold in egg whites that have been beaten. Line 9x13 inch glass dish or similar size dish with broken (not crumbled) wafers. Alternate fruit mixture and wafers ending with wafers. Chill overnight or several hours. Freezes well.
