This is a slightly different version of a meatloaf made with raw apples instead of using apple sauce. It's tasty and very good.
Ingredients
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. Butter, melted
2 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
2 cups apples, peeled, cored and
finely chopped
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. salt (or less if you like)
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 cup catsup
Directions
Saute onion in butter until soft. Combine all ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Form into loaf and place in 10x14 inch baking pan (or pack into a large greased loaf pan). Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Remove from oven and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.
This is delicious served with rice or mashed potatoes, green beans and hot rolls. Enjoy!
