Here is recipe that is simialr to the nut roll, it is a poppyseed roll which my polish aunt made, thought you might like to try it.
2 Hour Poppyseed Roll
Combine:
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/4 pound butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream

Mix well

Divide dough into 3 portions.
Roll thin.
Spread poppy Seed filling.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Allow to rise i hour.

Bake at 350F.. 35-40 minutes.

I use prepared Poppy Seed filling,
but you can make your own.
