Easier than lasagna, and freezes very well.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 2 8 oz. cans tomato sauce
- 4 cup egg noodles
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese at room temperature
- 1 8 oz. tub sour cream
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
Directions:
Cook ground beef and onion until browned, breaking up clumps with spoon. Drain.Stir in garlic, sugar, salt, pepper and tomato sauce and simmer 15 minutes.
Meanwhile cook noodles until firm but tender. Drain.
In small bowl blend well cream cheese and sour cream.
Lightly coat bottom of 2 1/2 qt. casserole with cooking spray. Arrange noodles over bottom of dish. Spread meat sauce evenly over noodles. Spread sour cream mixture evenly over meat sauce. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over top.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes until heated and bubbly.
This is better made a day ahead and covered and refrigerated. Time improves the flavor of this dish even more.
