Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

In a large bowl cream margarine, sugar, and eggs. Blend dry ingredients; stir in. Divide mixture in half. Form each half into a roll. Chill until firm. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. With knife, slice 1/4 inch thick. Place a little apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting, if desired.

Sugar Cookies

Great holiday sugar cookie recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 5 1/4 cups flour
  • dash salt

Directions:

Cream sugars with margarine, and add beaten eggs. Stir in oil and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and blend. Refrigerate overnight. Form into balls. Dip in granulated sugar and flatten with bottom of glass. Bake at 350 degrees F about 10 minutes until lightly browned. For variety, add 1 teaspoon almond flavor or 1 teaspoon lemon flavor.
