Laminate Vs. Formica Countertops

What is the difference between laminate and formica countertops?

Yes, they are the same thing just like a hot tub and a Jacuzzi are the same thing. One is the name of the product (laminate, plastic laminate or P-lam) and one is a brand name (Formica) that is just so common that people use them interchangeably.
