This recipe was given to me about 40 years ago by the mother of an original Mouseketeer named Lynn Ready. It has remained my favorite Peanut Butter Cookie recipe. From the desk of Jonni Ready.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup shortening (She used regular Crisco)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups flour ( not sifted )
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

Mix ingredients, Sift salt, flour, soda together last. Mix WELL

Roll into balls the size of walnut, mash down with fork dipped in cold water or dry fork in flour.

Bake in 350 degrees F oven 12-15 minutes.

Enjoy warm with a cold glass of milk.
