Garden: Hibiscus

I was out in the back this week and happened to go to the side yard, looking for Buddy. And I was standing near the hibiscus and saw the moon shining through the leaves. My camera is not very good, but this was fun anyway.

I have a small garden as I live in an apartment. Every year I make sure to get a Hibiscus, as they are my favorite. You can see the beauty they produce with some tender loving care.

My friend gave me this hibiscus. Every year, I am amazed at the blooms. Sometimes during the year it has orange flowers or two toned orange/gold. Other times of the year it has pale to med. yellow, single and double flowers.

I hope you will enjoy seeing the changes.

Thank you for the lovely photos! We just planted a hibiscus that very same color! I can't wait to see the blooms. In the past I have always planted the red ones, but I'm excited to see these in full bloom. (05/25/2010)

This Hibiscus is just breathtaking, with blooms almost 10 inches across. This is its first year as I planted it in the spring. Thought I'd share with everyone.

That one is beautiful. I just ordered one called Jazzberry Jam and it's a pink too. I also bought the large deep red hibiscus that has large blossoms too. If I get some seeds from it this year, would you like some? (08/17/2009)

My family bought me a hibiscus plant 10 years ago. Every year I change the soil and fertilizer it a couple of time in the summer, it never blooms. What is your secret? I would like to know. Thank you. (08/24/2009)
