Apple Custard Pie

Ingredients:

  • single pie shell
  • 5 large pie apples
  • 4 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups evaporated milk

Directions:

Line pie plate with unbaked pastry shell. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp. flour and 1/4 cup sugar over bottom. Pare, core and cut apples in halves; arrange cut side up in pastry shell. Combine egg and milk; pour over apples. Combine remaining flour and sugar with spices and sprinkle evenly over top. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 10 minutes; reduce temperature to 325 degrees F. and bake 30 minutes longer or until apples are tender and custard is firm.

Recipe: Apple Custard Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • nutmeg and cinnamon, to taste
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 apples (2 cups, ground)
  • cheese (optional)

Directions

Mix ingredients together and pour into unbaked shell. Bake at 425 degrees F about 35 minutes.
