These are yummy when added to a homemade soup of your choosing (I especially like them for potato soup). Be sure to prepare the dumpling ingredients so they'll be ready to add five to six minutes before the soup is done.
1/3 cup all purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 Tbsp. cornmeal
1/4 cup milk
2 Tbsp. cheddar cheese, shredded
Combine the flour, salt, baking powder and cornmeal in a small bowl. Stir in milk and cheese until just moistened. Drop by close to level teaspoons on to simmering soup. Cover and simmer for about 6 minutes.
