You can make a temporary stamp pad by folding a paper towel in half, in half again, and in half again. Soak it with liquid tempra paint (but not too much to make it gooey), and behold, a very inexpensive stamp pad in whatever color you have on hand. I put it on a small piece of foil, folded double and turned up sides to keep the mess at a minimum.

Request: Homemade Stamp Ink
Archived on 02/14/2007
Does anyone know how to make stamp pad ink using glycerine and Rit dye or rubbing alcohol and Rit dye? I need to re-ink and I'm way far away from any store with re-inkers.

Try Mrs. Stewarts bluing from the laundry department of your supermarket. We used it as ink
for pens when I was a child. (12/01/2006)
