Homemade Plant Cleaner/Shiner

Is there a recipe for a homemade live plant cleaning and shining solution?

I recently asked a girl that takes care of the plants in our office building and she told me to use a tiny bit of vegetable oil on the plant leaves. Haven't tried it yet but it's inexpensive and natural.
