Sausage and Cabbage Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup noodles uncooked
  • 3/4 lb Polish sausage sliced
  • 8 cups cabbage coarsely chopped
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 apple grated
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

Cook noodles, drain and set aside. Cook sausage until brown. Remove from skillet. Add to the skillet the cabbage, onion, apple, caraway seed cooking until the cabbage is tender, about 7-10 minutes. Add brown sugar, vinegar and salt. Cover and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Add sausage and noodles cooking until everything is hot.

Sandy, I have a recipe almost like this but it calls for a couple of apples and uses apple juice or apple cider. Really makes it especially good!

Sandy, I make something similar, except I add a cup of apple cider and a couple of sliced apples. One of my favorite dishes.
