Homemade Chili and Cornbread
A delicious hearty meal on those cool evenings that gets better as it sits.
- 2 lbs. hamburger meat
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 jar tomato sauce
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 large cans light red kidney beans
- chili powder (adjust to taste)
- favorite cornbread mix
Mix up your favorite cornbread mix and bake per the directions as you are cooking the chili.
Cook the hamburger meat and onion until done. Strain off grease and discard.
Add the tomato sauce and spices to the pot. Stir well and add the kidney beans and strained hamburger. Allow to cook for at least 30 minutes on medium stirring frequently.
