Any advice on removing nail tip glue from hard surfaces such as desktops, wooden flooring, etc.?

Try using heat to see if it will soften the glue up enough for you to wipe it off. A blow dryer might work.

I've gotten water rings off wood with a Mr. Clean "magic eraser." Maybe it would help with the softened glue. The eraser takes the wood finish off too, though, but it still works better than sanding.
