Interesting Trail Mix

I keep a big glass jar in my kitchen cabinet and whenever I have a handful of cereal left in the bottom of a box, a few pretzels left in the bag, or raisins, chips, marshmallows, peanuts, whatever, I toss them in the jar. Now I always have an interesting trail mix available to give as snacks for the kids, and they love it!

What a great idea! I do that too!

Here's some other cool trail mix recipes my kids love:

Cereal Trail Mix

2 cups toasted oat cereal
2 cups corn cereal
2 cups pretzels
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
2 tbsp. margarine
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon

In a large bowl combine everything with the exception of the margarine, brown sugar and cinnamon. Toss. Melt margarine in microwave or saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon. Pour over the cereal mixture. Toss to coat. Bake 8-10 minutes in a 350 oven.

Trail Mix with Popcorn

4 cups popped corn
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup raisins
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup sunflower nuts
Salt if desired

Combine ingredients.
