Hi ljs king, Do you have the recipe for long john silver's crispy fries? I love their fries and wanna try doing it at home. How did they make the fries so good and crispy? Thanks. :)

You forgot the dash of garlic onion and MSG oh and no pepper.
I worked there for 10 years.

COPY - CAT LONG JOHN SILVER FISH
BATTER

1 c. flour
1 tbsp. salt
Pinch of pepper
3/4 c. cold water
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Combine flour, salt, pepper, and water. Mix until smooth. Cover and let stand 20-30 minutes. Pat fish dry with paper towels. Stir baking powder into mixture. Dip fish into batter allowing excess batter to drip off. Fry fish 5 to 6 minutes in deep fryer at 375 degrees.

I don't know Long Johns recipe but I make a batter using regular pancake mix only using beer in place of water or milk. Have used water in a pinch,,make slightly thinner than for regular pancakes, put fish in bowl of batter to cover and coat than deep fry.
For variety my mother used to add yellow corn meal to batter.
