This my wonderful little dog Sam with my greatniece Sara. He is approximately 4 years old. A friend rescued him and then he came to live with me a couple of years ago. I think whoever abandoned him also horribly mistreated him because he is very shy and timid until he gets to know you. I believe he is part Shitzu and part French Basset Hound (PBGV-Petite Basset Griffon Vendeen).
He hardly ever barks and I have never heard him even growl, which is great considering how many small children we have in our family and how often we get together. His favorite thing to do is hide his dog treats in little nooks and crannies, like behind and under furniture. He will then cover the treat up with a dog toy. He is a wonderful little companion.

He's realy smart looking, like he really watches out for his new family. These rescue dogs have a look about them that tells their stories. He's a jewel! Thanks for sharing.

Hey I think Sam is really cute. I just wanted to let you know that I have a basset/lab and a shih tzu X and they just mated (by accident). Searching through the internet to find out what they might look like, I came across Sam. Hopefully if we have puppies they will be cute like Sam! Thanks for posting your picture.
