Storing items under your bed doesn't require those expensive boxes for storage. Use the large garbage bags, use your vacuum cleaner to suck out the air. Works like a charm for Christmas decorations, and purses, winter clothes or whatever you like.

An inexpensive and more 'decorative' way to go is to use old dresser drawers. I got one for about $10 at an antique store. (Sometimes the frame part of a dresser falls apart and antique stores, thrift stores sell off the drawers for cheap.) You can paint the front of the drawer to match the room, put those little plastic thingies on the 4 corners to allow the drawer to be pulled out easily without scuffing wood floors, and also paint the wooden knobs or swap them out. I keep sheets and pillow cases in 'underbed chest', but you can store almost anything that won't fit in your other storage.
