I need to erect a door canopy above an outer door. This is essentially to deflect rain from the flat roof immediately above from splashing against the door. This happens each heavy rainfall, despite there being a guttering in place.
The canopy will have to be clear glass/perspex or equivalent to maintain maximum light in the doorway. Commercially available canopies are extraordinarily expensive, so any ideas for home made would be welcome.
I know that here in the US, a the large home center "box" stores, we can get clear half-dome shaped covers for basement windows designed to let the light in, but keep rain and debris out of the window wells. It would not be as attractive as a commercially made awning; but it might serve the purpose? Good luck!
