A Different Kind of Haystack Cookie

These cookies/candy have an unusual list of ingredients but they are so good. I've made them with just pretzels or just chow mein noodles. Today, I had a little of both leftover and threw 'em all in. You can really add whatever you might like in there. It's a great way to use up all those odds and ends. Plus, it tastes good, too!

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: about 12, depending on the size.

Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in the microwave. Start out by heating for 30 seconds, stir, then heat another 20 seconds or so. If needed, heat a little longer. Stir til smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients.
  3. Stir til everything is covered in that lovely chocolate.
  4. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper.
  5. Use the end of your spoon to make sure it all stays together.
  6. Let cool and enjoy!
