A Plastic Bag Stained My Wood Table

I had a bread bag on my table (wood) and the plastic marked the table, do you have any clue of how I can remove it?

Mix cigarette, or cigar, ashes with cooking oil to make a paste. GENTLY massage the area with mixture, using a soft cloth, and working in circles. Once the mark is gone, wipe down area with a clean, soapy cloth. Rinse well and dry thoroughly. After it's dry, apply furniture polish to entire table. (06/06/2006)
