Baked Potato Meets Oven Fries

These crunchy baked potatoes are more like French fries when completed. They are perfect as a dinner side or a snack.

Total Time: Prep Time; 15 minutes, Cooking time 1 hour

Yield: As many as you are feeding, 1 potato per person

Ingredients:

*I would say a 1/8 of a tsp. of everything then you adjust to your taste and amount. Light on the season salt. I use Old Bay seasoned Paprika, black pepper, basil, garlic dried minced, minced onion, topping them off with a sprinkle of imitation bacon bits

Steps:

  1. Wash and scrub your potatoes. On a cutting board, place the potato lengthwise. Using a sharp knife, cut through the potato only to 1/8th from the bottom. Continue cutting the potato, 1/8 inches apart, until you are done. It will look like a fanned potato.
  2. Place your potato on a small baking dish, I used a glass pie dish. Drizzle with oilve oil. then sprinkle your seasonings finishing by topping it with bacon bits.
  3. It goes into a preheated oven at 450 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. I would pull them out half way through and tip the dish and pour the hot olive oil over them, then back in the oven.

  5. When these are done, they are ready to eat. Topping could be: sour cream, bacon bits, chives, scallions, anything your imagination can do. Enjoy!
