Caring for a Dog with the Parvovirus?

My dog was diagnosed with the parvovirus. He has been hospitalised for 5 days already, but he is looking so much better. He was even playing and biting me. The vet says he still has to stay because he has a fever.

Is it necessary for that? Or can I look after him at home? The bills are going to be insane.

It is up to you especially when you cannot afford such bills. Check out this site. They have an area of information regarding parvo and fevers:

This is a serious illness. I would do what the vet advised. Try to work out a payment plan

The vet is probably right. He is still highly infected if he has a fever. He could develop complications quickly with a fever.
