These are cutely shaped peanut butter cookies, with a little licorice tail.
They can easily be made into "mice" by adding two M&Ms for eyes.
Total Time: 1 1/2 hour
Yield: 4 dozen
Ingredients:
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup  sugar
- 1/2  cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 regular sized egg
-  1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2  tsp baking soda
- 1 small package black shoestring licorice cut into 2 1/2 inch pieces
Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, cream peanut butter, butter, and sugars. 
 
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
 
- Combine flour and baking soda.
 
- Gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Cover and chill dough for one hour or overnight.
 
- Roll into one inch balls. 
- Pinch one end forming a kind of oval shape.
 
- Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
 
- Press to flatten.
 
- Using a toothpick make a 1/2 inch hole in the back of the computer "mouse" for the licorice to go in when they are done baking.
 
-  Bake at 350 degrees F for 8 - 10 minutes. While cookies are still warm, put in licorice at the back of the "mouse".  
- Cool on wire racks.
