Cottage Cheese Dill Rolls

Enjoy these wonderful rolls for dinner or anytime. I really liked the combination of dill and onion. Most of the time making this recipe, is the rising time. I used whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose.

Prep Time: 1 hour and 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20-30 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour and 40 minutes

Yield: 12

  1. Combine the yeast, warm water and the sugar in a bowl and let sit for 5 minutes to proof. If the yeast is good, it will foam.
  2. I a large bowl, mix 2 cups of the flour with the onion, dill, salt and baking powder.

  4. Add the cottage cheese, egg and yeast mixture. Mix until you have a soft dough.
  5. Place the dough on a floured surface. Knead for 3-5 minutes, adding flour as needed. Your dough should be smooth, elastic and not be sticky.
  6. Place in a greased bowl. Cover with a clean towel. Let rise in a warm place for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Cut the dough in 12 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball. Place on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise a second time for 20-30 minutes.

  9. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake rolls until golden brown on top, 20-25 minutes.
  10. Cool on wire rack.
