Crochet Button from Fishing Line

Even small but original things can perfectly highlight your look. I figured out how to crochet this button from a fishing line. Thanks to the fishing line, this button has a solid shape. It is very easy and not long to make.

You will need to know how to crochet:
chain (ch),
single crochet (sc),
slip stitch (sl st),
finish off crochet.

Total Time: 15 Minutes

Yield: Button with a diameter of 1 inch

Supplies:

fishing line 0.55 mm thick
crochet hook 2.5 mm (B1)
cardboard
scissors

Steps:

Cut a rectangle 0.8" wide and 2.5" long from the cardboard. Make an incision on one side. Cut off the side edges slightly on the other side. This will make it easier to remove the fishing line from the cardboard (see photo).

Lock the end of the fishing line into the cut. Wrap the line around the cardboard, making 20 turns.

Slip the hook under the turns of the line and pull the loop out. Crochet 1 ch.

Insert the crochet hook under the turns of the line and pull a loop. There will be two loops on the hook, crochet them together 1 sc. Repeat this step 3-4 times and remove the cardboard.

Continue crocheting around the turns of the line as in the previous step (crochet sc) until you have crocheted the entire ring. Crochet 1 sl st to connect with the first loop.

Rotate crocheting 180 degrees. Pull the loop out so that it reaches the opposite (inner) edge, the working fishing line at the back of the crochet. Crochet 1 ch. As a result, you will move to the inside of the ring. Crochet 3 ch. Then connect the chain to the opposite edge of the ring, passing the working line over the crochet and crocheting 1 ch (it will be the jumper of the button).

Turn the crocheting 90 degrees and crochet 3 sc around the chain (the jumper). Connect the chain to the opposite edge, passing the working line over the crochet and crocheting 1 ch (it will make the jumper stronger). Finish of crochet.

Tighten the end of the line very good. Cut the line, leaving an end of about 1 inch. Using the crochet hook thread the end of line inside the crocheted button (inside the crocheted ring), hiding it. Hide the opposite end of the fishing line as well.
Sew the button either around the jumper, or to the single crochet loops of the jumper.
